PPR Horse Boarding’s Promise
Have you had difficulty finding the right horse boarding facility?
Are you in, or around, La Grande Oregon looking for a quiet, caring, and dedicated horse boarding facility for your best friend?
We know how important it is to have someplace safe and caring to keep your horse when you can’t keep them yourself.
In 1994, Owner, Wendy Kohl founded PPR Horse Boarding at its current location. She did so for two main reasons:
- To have a good quality facility, with the best care, where someone can board their horse without worry.
- To have an affordable facility allowing others a chance to have the love of their life, in their life.
How Does PPR Make This Happen?
We put your horses health and well being, first. We have a quiet and dedicated horse boarding facility. Only our clients are allowed access. This means no interruptions for you or your horse.
Second, we have an Equine Health Program we recommend all clients follow.
Why an Equine Health Program?
We want every horse we board to be cared for the way we care for our own horses. This keeps your horse happy and in peak health. Helping them live longer with a better quality of life and ensuring that they’re in your life for many years.
What’s in this program?
Our Equine Health Program focuses on 4 necessary areas of horse health care.
- Worming Program:
Worming given every 8 weeks, or as needed. - Eight-way shots(Including West Nile Vaccination.):
Shots are given as needed but at least yearly. - Feet trimmed and/or shod every 8 weeks.
- Teeth Done:
Teeth are done yearly, usually during fall. Having your horses teeth done ensures your horse is getting the most nutrients from their diet.
We have a farrier available at our facility or you may use your own.
How much does this health program cost?
The cost varies depending on the health of your horse and the care it receives on a regular basis when you first bring it to our facility. We do our best to provide a reasonable rate for these services, when it’s in our power to do so.
For example, Wendy offers a worming pack at cost, usually about 70 bucks for a one year supply. She buys a large supply to use on her own horses too. However you can pay for and bring your own shots and wormers if you prefer.
Wendy will talk with you about your horse’s needs. If your horse has a pre-established program or special needs we’re more than happy to follow them.
Veterinary care can also be established on your own, but must be current.
Facility
PPR Horse Boarding is a quiet and dedicated facility. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week only for our extended family of horse boarding clients. This helps keep our horses happy and calm. You’ll have access to ride any time you want to.
